We, Kate and Dan are both born and bred Southlanders. We moved to our Lochiel property in 2016, where we have built our family home and business life together. Dan started his logging business in 2014, which he continues to manage alongside our growing family ventures
Together, we have three sons aged 22, 12 and 10, and family has always been at the heart of everything they do — which is reflected in the warm, welcoming, and thoughtful experiences they create for others.
The retreat is set on our picturesque 3.5-acre property in Lochiel, just 11 minutes’ drive from Winton.
We’re the Idea Began
Set in the heart of Southland, Sleeping Beauties — Kate’s original business — began as a dream of creating unique and enchanting backyard celebrations. We founded this business in 2022, what started with just two tents for children’s parties has grown into a thriving business that continues to exceed expectations.
Today, Sleeping Beauties offers everything from themed teepee parties and glamping set-ups to pamper parties and bespoke picnic experiences — all thoughtfully designed to create truly memorable moments for their clients.
